EXCLUSIVE: Bandits Demand New Naira As AbdulSalami, Malami, Aleiro, Others Raise N105m For Abducted FGC Birnin Yauri Students

AFTER former head of state, AbsulSalami Abubakar; Attorney General, Abubakar Malami SAN; Senator Kebbi Central, Senator Adamu Aleiro and others raised the sum of N105m demanded for the release of the students of the Federal Government College (FGC), Birnin Yauri, the bandits have further demanded that the money must be in new naira notes.

    BORNO PATRIOTS

A reliable source, who is also a relative of one of the abducted students told News Point Nigeria that, the bandits had communicated to the parents of the remaining 11 female students in captivity to make available the sum of N105m or they will never see the girls again in December, 2022.

According to the source, after receiving the bandits’ demands the parents of the 11 remaining girls appealed to Nigerians to come to their aid financially in order to rescue their children from their abductors.

In a letter addressed to all Nigerians, the parents’ group known as “Committee of Parents of 11 Abducted Students of F.G.C Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State, Nigeria,” passionately solicited financial assistance towards raising the sum of N100 million as ransom demanded by the terrorists.

News Point Nigeria also learnt that, wealthy Nigerians and politicians especially in Kebbi State heed the parents’ ceaseless pleas and made generous donations.

Speaking on the development, during his Friday sermon yesterday, the chief imam of Birnin Yauri mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Ibrahim said, succour is close for the remaining abducted girls as the complete sum of N105m has been completely donated by well meaning individuals in the country.

According to him, Gen AbdulSalami Abubakar donated N5m, Attorney General, Malami SAN donated N10m, General Aminu Bande (rtd), who is also the Kebbi state Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) gubernatorial candidate, donated N3m, Senator Adamu Aleiro donated N6m, Malamawan Kebbi donated N5m, ministry of education and Garkuwan Ka’oje made undisclosed donations, Dr Bello Kabiru Mosque donated N3m and Col Dangiwa Muhammad went round the country to get the balance of undisclosed donations for the girls.

“It is sad that the Kebbi state government despite our repeated pleas and requests choose not to donate to the rescue of the girls. In fact, the governor was even angry that we solicited help for these girls from these individuals listed”, the chief imam added.

“It just baffles me that the state governor, the govt and the entire cabinet members choose not to help these girls, not even with a single kobo. These girls are our daughters and they have been in captivity for over 200 days, why will any public officer holder treat them like these”, he further lamented.

Nigerian TAX Reform - Federal Goverment

Speaking to News Point Nigeria Saturday morning, a mother of one of the girls, who spoke on condition of anonymity, appealed again to the state govt to help in providing the new naira notes in the demanded sum, so they can get their girls back soon.

“I wish to appeal to the govt to make available the sum of money in new naira notes, so we can get our girls back. The bandits have specifically stated that, they won’t take bikes, food items and guns as earlier demanded. All they want now are new naira notes in the sum of N105m”, she said crying.

Recall that bandits abducted over 100 students and eight teachers from the College on Thursday, 17 June, 2021. Many of them were subsequently released at different times, leaving just 11 of the girls now.

Concerning the issue of those remaining
adopted girl, sincerely speaking Atiku Bagudu has made alot of effort to make sure that all the students are back to their parents it’s was unfortunate that those 11 were left,I’m sure and a witness that governor Bagudu pays alot of money to collect over 100 people from the bandit. So people should not forget this and never forget and see down at his efforts. All this saying and back bit are that of polities critism.Let the person saying these tell the world how the rest of the students and teachers get back to their homes,if not the effort Bagudu makes
