THE Plateau State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports claiming that Caleb Mutfwang and former governor Jonah David Jang have endorsed certain aspirants ahead of the party’s anticipated primary elections.
News Point Nigeria reports that the clarification was contained in a disclaimer notice dated May 15, 2026, and signed by the APC Plateau State Chairman, Rufus Bature, who described the reports as “false, fake, and entirely without merit.”
According to the statement, the party accused what it described as “desperate political elements” of spreading misleading propaganda aimed at manipulating public perception and gaining political advantage through dishonest means.
The APC clarified that at the national, state and local government levels, no endorsement communication has been received, approved or recognised in favour of any aspirant contesting for positions, including those seeking seats in the Plateau Northern Senatorial Zone and other National Assembly positions.
The party stressed that all aspirants are expected to engage party faithful and the electorate through democratic means by earning support based on credibility, grassroots acceptance and capacity rather than relying on fabricated endorsements.
The statement also warned individuals and groups allegedly spreading false narratives under the guise of promoting APC interests, noting that disciplinary actions could be taken against anyone found culpable by relevant party committees.
The APC further urged members of the public and party supporters to disregard the claims and remain committed to peaceful, issue-based and credible democratic engagement ahead of the anticipated primaries.
The notice was issued from the APC Plateau State Secretariat located at Kalwa House, Yakubu Gowon Way, Jos.
