THE Ekiti State Police Command have launched an investigation after an undergraduate of Ekiti State University Helen Okorie went missing.
In a press statement issued Sunday by the spokesperson of the command Sunday Abutu, the police noted that the 500-level student left home about ten days back to an unknown destination and has not returned since then.
“She is 23 years old, chocolate in complexion, speaks English and Igbo languages fluently and has no tribal mark. She is a 500-level student of Ekiti State University,” he said.
But he said the Command said it has commenced an investigation to unravel the whereabouts of the 23-year-old student, promising to deploy necessary strategies to unearth the sudden disappearance.
Her disappearance is the most recent in the continued missing of tertiary institution students. A few days ago, a National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) student Blessing Karami was found dead after she disappeared.
“The body of Blessing Karami Moses, a 26-year-old woman who had been missing since September 11, 2023, was tragically discovered in a wooded area in Karimo. Her disappearance was reported to the authorities on September 14, 2023,” the FCT police authorities said while vowing to continue their probe of the matter.
