ENGR Abubakar Kailani, the son of Director General, Confederation of All Progressives Congress Support Groups (CASG), Prof. Kailani Muhammad, has hailed the virtues of his father over conferment of Professorship.

    RAMADAN KAREEM

Muhammad was conferred with Professor of Electrical/Electronics Engineering by the British American University.

In a vote of thanks, Kailani said, “in conferring this professorship, we not only acknowledge past achievements but also express our anticipation for the continued impact my father will undoubtedly have in the years to come”.

According to him, “As we celebrate today, let us recognize that the journey towards sustainable energy practices and climate resilience is ongoing, and with individuals like my father leading the way, the future looks brighter for Nigeria and our global community.

“Congratulations, Professor Kailani Muhammad on this well-deserved honor. May your continued endeavors inspire us all to strive for a more sustainable and resilient world”, he stated.

Mallam Kailani further stated that, “it is both an honor and a privilege to stand before you today on this momentous occasion, the conferment of the well-deserved professorship to a figure of tremendous intellect, dedication, and contribution to the field.

Today, we not only celebrate an academic milestone but also recognize the profound impact that this distinguished individual has had on the understanding of how energy sector decarbonization contributes to addressing climate change, specifically in the context of Nigeria

Our planet is facing unprecedented challenges due to climate change, and Nigeria is not immune to its impacts. One key area where we can make a significant difference is in the way we generate and consume power. The power sector is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, and by understanding and embracing decarbonization, we can pave the way for a more sustainable future.”, he said.

Continuing, he added that, “Let us be at the forefront of change, leading the way toward a low-carbon future that preserves our environment, protects our health, and ensures a prosperous and sustainable Nigeria.

“As we confer this esteemed title upon my father, we acknowledge his tireless commitment to advancing knowledge and addressing one of the most pressing challenges of our time — climate change. His work has illuminated the path toward a sustainable and resilient future for Nigeria, and beyond.

“Mentorship and Education: The mark of an exceptional professor extends beyond personal accomplishments to the mentorship of future leaders. My father has played a pivotal role in shaping the minds of countless students, instilling in them not only a passion for learning but also a sense of responsibility toward our planet. His dedication to education ensures that the legacy of sustainable practices will continue through the generations he has inspired.

“Collaboration and International Recognition: Academic excellence knows no boundaries, and my father’s collaborative efforts with international scholars have brought recognition not only to him but also to the contributions of Nigeria to the global discourse on climate change. His collaborations underscore the importance of a collective effort in addressing challenges that transcend borders.
