THE Leader of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has advised the people of Lagos State against allowing a repeat of what played out in the 2023 election in the state during the 2027 presidential election.
News Point Nigeria reports that Tompolo called on Lagos residents to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and enable them to vote massively for one of their own, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ekpemupolo, who was represented by Kestin Pondi, gave the charge in Lagos on Tuesday during a campaign rally for Tinubu’s re-election, where he also presented 57 campaign vehicles to the movement’s state coordinators.
“What happened in 2023 must not repeat. He must win convincingly in 2027,” he said.
He described Tinubu as a selfless and courageous leader who was undeterred by the prospect of re-election and continued to implement bold reforms that, according to him, were already yielding results and benefiting many Nigerians.
Ekpemupolo pointed out that Lagos’s status as a city for all Nigerians was attributable to the foundation laid by Tinubu, which successive governors had built upon. He said that, now that Tinubu had assumed a higher responsibility, his people needed to stand firmly behind him.
“Lagos is the city for all Nigerians because someone stood firm to restructure and reform it. From the time he came into office in 1999 up to 2007, when he left, Lagos was the envy of other states.
“Today, he has a higher responsibility, an opportunity to replicate the Lagos success story in Nigeria through reforms. There is massive development across the states today because reforms are working,” he stated.

Ekpemupolo said that, to ensure the reforms continued, the people of Lagos and Nigerians across the country must take the message to every doorstep and convince everyone that Tinubu was the right person for Nigeria.
Also speaking at the rally, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said Nigeria was attaining economic stability under the Tinubu-led administration.
He advised residents to ignore what he described as the antics of opposition politicians who, according to him, had no plans for Nigeria but were desperate to win elections.
Sanwo-Olu said the movement of some opposition politicians from one political party to another demonstrated a lack of consistency, which he described as a bad quality for any leader.
The governor said Tinubu had constructed more roads than previous administrations within three years, provided relief to students, increased the minimum wage and made funds available for the payment of pensions.
“Why won’t we vote for him? The entire Lagos is for Tinubu. All our votes are for Tinubu. You’ve done it before, you’ll do it again.
“We will touch every corner of Lagos with our message to re-elect Tinubu. Go out and convince everyone that Tinubu is the candidate to vote for,” the governor stated.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of the movement, Sunday Asuku, urged Lagos residents to obtain their PVCs to enable them to vote massively for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
“We must stand our ground and deliver Tinubu with PVCs, not with guns or intimidation. Lagos must not put their son, Tinubu, to shame,” he stated.
Asuku said Nigerians must use the 2027 presidential election to make a bold statement by retiring what he called “serial contesters,” whom he described as “enemies of Nigeria.”
