2027: PDP Ready To Reclaim Kano, Muhammad Abacha Declares After INEC Clearance

Mo Abacha

THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kano State for the 2027 general elections, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abacha, has declared that the party is ready to reclaim power in the state following his final clearance by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

News Point Nigeria reports that Abacha, who expressed gratitude over the clearance, said the PDP remained deeply rooted in Kano politics and was prepared to mobilise its members across the 44 local government areas to secure victory in the forthcoming governorship election.

“Kano has traditionally been a PDP state, and the PDP is in the blood of the people,” he said.

The candidate expressed appreciation to the national leadership of the party, the Kano State chapter, delegates who voted for him during the primary election, stakeholders and party members for the confidence reposed in him.

He described the support as a solemn responsibility, pledging to justify the trust through hard work, consultation and an unwavering commitment to the development of Kano State.

Abacha also commended party members who remained loyal during challenging periods, saying their sacrifices had helped sustain the party’s structures and preserve its presence across the state.

He urged members to redirect their attention towards the electorate, stressing that the party’s campaign would focus on hope, opportunities, accountability and inclusive development.

According to him, the PDP campaign would be driven by ideas, public engagement and a commitment to purposeful leadership rather than bitterness or personal attacks.

He assured party members that the PDP would approach the 2027 election with a united structure, a clear message and a campaign designed to reach communities across Kano State.

“Our objective is clear: to win the 2027 governorship election and form the next PDP government in Kano State,” he said.

Abacha acknowledged that achieving the objective would require discipline, sacrifice and a high level of organisation, adding that the party was prepared to undertake the task.

He called on PDP members to return to grassroots mobilisation, urging them to rebuild party structures, strengthen unity and work collectively in the interest of Kano State rather than pursue personal ambitions.

The governorship candidate also assured residents that, if elected, he would maintain regular consultations and work towards a government that respected the dignity and aspirations of all citizens, irrespective of their political affiliations, backgrounds or locations.

“The journey to 2027 has begun. The PDP is united, mobilised and ready,” Abacha said, expressing confidence in the party’s preparations for the election.

He appealed to party members and residents to support the PDP as it begins its campaign ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
