ONE hundred thousand serving and former councillors of the All Progressive Congress (APC) under the umbrella of the National Progressive Councilors’ Forum (NPCF) are billed to gather in Abuja to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the Forum’s National Convention scheduled to take place in July this year.
This is disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja yesterday by the National Organising Secretry of the Forum, Rt. Hon. Waziri Umar, to “affirm loyalty to Mr. President of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu and endorse him to continue in 2027.”
The statement reads, “The National Progressive Councilors’ Forum (NPCF) wish to notify a Congress for All Progressive APC serving councilors and stakeholders that the Board Of Trustees of the Forum sat on Sunday, 18th May, 2025, with EXCO’s of the Forum in a board meeting at Arewa House, Kaduna, and resolved to organize National Progressives Councilors Convention in July, 2025, which comprises the NEC Meeting, election of new EXCO’s and seminar to re-strengthen the Forum so as to boost chances for the APC to continue leading the country at all levels, for the development and prosperity of the nation.
“We intend to gather one hundred thousand councilors, serving and all former councilors, within the APC dynasty that served from 1999 to 2025 in Abuja, for a solidarity to the party Chairman, His Excellency (Dr.) Abdullahi Umar Ganduje,and affirm loyalty to Mr. President of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu and endorse him to continue in 2027.”
The Association plans to schedule the program of the event as NEC/Seminar meeting on Friday 18 July, election of new executives on Saturday, 19 July, and convention on Sunday, 20 July, 2025.
The statement also proposed to zone the executive positions allotted within the Six Geopolitical Zones of Nigeria.
“The Northeast will produce National Chairman, Deputy National Secretary and Deputy National Organizing Secretary,while the Southwestern part of Nigeria will produce positions of National Secretary, National Welfare Officer and Deputy National Auditor. Also Northwest will cover the offices of National Treasurer, National Legal adviser, Deputy National Welfare and Deputy National Financial Secretary.
“Northcentral to produce Deputy National Chairman (North), National Auditor General and National Publicity Secretary. Southeast to produce National Organizing Secretary, National Publicity Secretary and Deputy Legal Adviser. Southsouth will produce Deputy National Chairman (South), National Financial Secretary and Deputy National Treasurer,” he said.
President Tinubu was recently endorsed for the 2027 General Election by the APC governors’ Forum as well as the party’s members of the National Assembly.
