OVER a 100 football stakeholders are expected to be honoured by the organisers of the second edition of Dr. Ibrahim Galadima Football Competition in Kano.
According to a statement signed by the chairman of the media and publicity committee, Ado Salisu, Tuesday, the Chairman of the organising committee, Engr Musa Suleiman stated that the final will hold on Saturday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, Saturday.
The Chairman added that, the competition is organized in recognition of Galadima’s immense contribution to the development of football in Nigeria and the world as a whole.
Musa also hinted that those expected to be honoured at the final include; the chairman of Kano state football association, Dr Sharif Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan; the former Special adviser in Kano and Gombe states, Dr. Ahmad Shuaibu Gara Gombe; the former chief of staff to the former Minister of Sports, Alhaji Abba Abdullahi Yola; former AFCON registrar, Alhaji Garba Bello Kankarofi and director of sports, Bayero University Kano, Professor Rabiu Muhd.
Others are; Makaman Bichi and district head of Tofa local govt area, Alhaji Isyaku Umar Tofa; Sarkin Shanun Kazaure in Jigawa state, Alhaji Abdulkadir Adamu; former chairman of Kano Pillars football club. Alhaji Muhd Tukur Babangida and former director of sports, Alhaji Ibrahim Abba among others.
He added that, Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf is expected to be the special guest of honour at the occasion and the state Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye will also grace the occasion.
The final of the competition will see the host, Junior Kano Pillars Football Club face Ahzuba FC.
