AS part of its move to effectively utilize the affiliate Institutes under Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology Wudil, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Musa Tukur Yakasai has announced the relocation of Faculty of Technology and Business Education and Institute of Continuing and Innovative Education from Wudil to its Campus at Karfi with immediate effect.
According to a signed statement by the Deputy Registrar, IPR Unit, Abdullahi Datti Abdullahi, also relocated to Karfi Campus is the proposed e-Learning Centre, while the Sports Institute will continue to remain there.
The statement said, Prof Yakasai made the disclosure on Thursday when he paid a familiarization visits to the Sports Institute Karfi, Farm Mechanization and Irrigation Institute Kadawa and Horticultural Institute, Livestock Institute, Fisheries Institute and Zoological Institute both located at Bagauda.
He revealed that the relocation of the affected facilities was also necessitated by dearth of adequate hostel accommodation, offices, lecture rooms and theatres at Wudil Campus.
”There are a lot of pressures within Wudil Campus with about 20,000 students, so we came round to see facilities on ground and how do we maximally utilized them.
“The institutes are big assets to ADUST, as such, we want to restructure the places and provide essential support and logistics”, Prof Yakasai emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor has appointed Prof Auwalu Ibrahim Magashi as Provost of all Institutes in Bagauda to oversee the training of students of Innovative Diplomas and Certificate in Agriculture and Agro Entrepreneurship.
He added that, successful candidates are to be absorbed into the BSc Agriculture of the University.
Prof Yakasai was accompanied by members of the University Senate, members of his Transition Committee and relevant stakeholders in the University.
