THE International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has announced Lord Mayor Osuji Kenneth Alphons as a recipient of the International Mayor of Peace Award.
Ambassador Emmanuel Nkweke, the International Spokesman of IAWPA made this known in a press statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja, Tuesday.
Nkweke said, Lord Mayor Osuji will be the 5th person in the world to be bestowed with this prestigious award due to his contributions to humanity.
Other notable personalities who have been bestowed with this award include the outgoing President of Liberia George Opong Weah among others.
Nkweke stressed that the contributions of Lord Mayor Osuji Kenneth Alphons in the area of provision of water, assistance to widows and less privileged, solar system in his community, employment opportunities for people in his community in Nigeria and the United states and many other contributions makes him a deserved recipient.
How he has developed his community of Ituoha, Ibeme Amaise and Uguri all Isiala Mabno Local Government Area of Imo State is worthy of emulation and has endeared him to be inducted into the SDG Hall of Fame of the International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA.
The statement further said that the award will be presented to him by none other personality than the World Peace President Amb Per Stafsen.
The International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA is a global peace advocacy group which has been involved in peace building initiatives across the globe
With membership drawn from all works of life and in over a hundred countries worldwide, the association which enjoys a Special Consultative Status under the Economic and Social Council ECOSOC of the United Nations since 2019, has been described as an association of great personalities and status.
