THE APC Jigawa Integrity Group is an advocacy for democracy and good governance group, whose mandate involve advancing democratic values within and beyond their party, the APC, in Jigawa and across Nigeria.
In a press statement sent to News Point Nigeria on Friday, group’s convener, Comrade Auwal Shuaibu Gumel slammed the endless lies targeting His Excellency Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
“The former Jigawa governor and ex-Minister of Defence yet again had his name soiled in falsehoods, ostensibly by his detectors.
“Only yesterday, a shady and obscure group called Coalition of Grassroots Democrats, CGD peddled nonsense about HE Badaru defecting from APC the party he helped build to ADC,” Comrade Gumel declared bluntly.
He called it out as a dirty plot. “This is yet another scheme to discredit HE Badaru and turn him against his boss, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Gumel stressed. Badaru has no political enemies in Jigawa or beyond. He never attacks, smears, or trashes anyone unlike his haters.
These lies come from detractors scared of Badaru’s massive influence. “HE Badaru builds people and institutions. Hate him or love him, he’s instrumental and worked to the coming of this administration and its wins nationwide, in Northern Nigeria, and Jigawa,” Comrade Gumel noted. Badaru handpicked the current governor, Umar Namadi first as finance commissioner, then deputy, and finally as successor.
Yet, Namadi’s government lets attacks on Badaru slide. “in fact, it is an established norm that appointments and favors go to those who trash Badaru’s name,in the media and other spaces or platforms, Comrade Gumel charged.
“The lies and misinformation around Badaru spiked even when he was abroad on a private trip shortly after resigning as minister. “Let it be known, HE Badaru is going nowhere. He nurtured APC and won’t ditch it for jobbers. His loyalty to the APC and Tinubu is rock-solid 2027 will prove it.”
Badaru delivered big in 2023, securing Tinubu over 25% votes as governor. Now, he’s realigning politics visiting elders like HE Sule Lamido.
“His Babura rally showed his grip. “HE Badaru knows the game; he’s not a newbie. The earlier these paid agents and their sponsors understand this, the better,” comrade Gumel said.
We won’t watch faceless groups mock a leader who served Jigawa and Nigeria with merit. Partisanship stops her Badaru’s influence endures they should be able to draw the line, the statement concluded.
