A FIRE outbreak has razed a departmental building at the School of Technology, Kano State Polytechnic. It was gathered that the fire engulfed the entire Arts and Industrial Department of the polytechnic early Tuesday morning. The Spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abudullahi, confirmed the incident to our correspondent, but the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained. THE Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has denied reports, that it inflated the subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit by N3.3tn during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. THE National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says its operatives have again intercepted another consignment of 175,000 bottles of opioid imported from India. The is coming barely a week after seizing a shipment of 175,000 bottles of codeine-based syrup at the Port Harcourt Ports complex in Onne, Rivers state. ABOUT 270 intending pilgrims from Kwara on Friday protested at llorin international Airport over the inability of an Air Peace aircraft to transport them to Saudi Arabia. NIGERIA’s current account balance has experienced a surplus of $1.432bn in 2024, according to a report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The report, ‘World Economic Outlook Database’ seen by Channels Television on Wednesday, noted that the increase in the Federal Government’s account for the period, was an improvement from the $1.21bn surplus recorded in 2023. The improvement was attributed to the country’s growing gross national savings and investment.
