KANO State Hisbah Board has deployed its personnel to various mosques across the 44 local government areas of the state. The board said the move was part of efforts to ensure safety of lives and property during the Ramadan period. THE Kano State Government has imposed dawn to dusk curfew with a view to avoid breakdown of law and order following tensions generated from the collation of results of the governorship and state Assembly elections. The state Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Muhammad Garba, made the announcement in a statement issued Monday morning. THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the New Nigerian Peoples Party’s (NNPP) governorship candidate, Abba Kabir Yusuf winner of the Kano governorship election. Abba, popularly known as Abba Gida Gida polled a total of 1, 019, 602 votes, defeating the incumbent deputy governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Party who scored 890, 705 votes, followed by Muhammad Sani Abacha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 15, 957 votes.
