THE Kano State Government has declared Monday, July 8, as a public holiday to commemorate the beginning of a new Islamic calendar year. GOVERNOR Abba Yusuf of Kano State has declared a state of emergency in the education sector. The governor made this declaration while distributing educational materials to schools, awarding scholarship to students and soft loans to teachers on Saturday. AN explosion rocked a mosque in Gadan Village, in the Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State on Wednesday, leaving 24 individuals with various injuries.
