THE Nigeria Police Force has announced the rescue of the two daughters of Aminu Ardo, a member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, who were abducted in November 2022. Announcing the rescue of the victims in Abuja, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, stated that the rescue was made possible through the collaborative efforts of various security agencies, coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser. THE Adamawa Government said it has recorded no fewer than 838 cases of measles and 49 deaths in the state. Dr James Jacob, Director, Disease Control and Immunisation, disclosed this to newsmen in Yola on Tuesday. He said, so far no fewer than 13,084 children were vaccinated and the cases of the disease have now reduced. THE North-East Governors’ Forum has expressed concern over the neglect of the North-East in the allocation of federal government capital projects, particularly the poor state of road and railway infrastructure along the economic corridors that link the zone to the rest of the country. NO fewer than 200 people have been killed by a dangerous humid heat that has been experienced from the 1st to 13th of this month in Yola, the Adamawa State capital. A COMBINED security force has rescued 17 abducted passengers mostly males from the clutch of violent extremists in the Solar General Area of Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State. GOVERNOR Dauda Lawal has paid over four billion Naira in gratuities to retired workers in Zamfara State, which has been owed since 2011. Retired state and local government workers in Zamfara State have not received the gratuities that have accumulated over the years. THE Adamawa State government has closed down public and private schools following the outbreak of measles that has killed 42 children in the State. The closure notice was contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Aisha Umar, in Yola on Monday.
