THE Katsina State Government has ordered the immediate suspension of the Unit Head of the Forestry Department in the Malumfashi Local Government Area of the State. This follows a serious report of allegations received by the government over his involvement in the sale of parts of Makaurachi Forest Reserve in the local government area. AN improvised explosive device (IED) has claimed the life of an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abubakar Nurudeen, in Jakana, Konduga Local Government Area, along the Maiduguri-Damaturu road, Borno State. Nurudeen was, on Thursday, inspecting Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) power lines previously brought down by unknown persons when the tragedy struck. SUSPECTED bandits have burnt a mother, her daughter-in-law and two children alive in another attack on Sokoto community. The bandits were said to have attacked Kurya village in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State around 8:30pm on Sunday. THE Nigerian Correctional Service Katsina State Command said it has recaptured two inmates who escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre on October 17, 2023. A MAN has been killed by bandits in Kwalfada village in the Tsafe Local Government Area in Zamfara State for not allowing his daughter to marry a bandit. THE management of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), in Katsina State Friday said the remaining four abducted female students of the university have regained their freedom.
