THE Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, has approved the release of N1 billion for the payment of West African Examination Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NECO), the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and other fees for the 2022-2023 examinations. TROOPS of the Nigerian military have killed over 70 suspected terrorists in counterinsurgency operations in the North-East region. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing journalists about the operations of the military in the last two weeks. THE Commandant of Zamfara State Anti-Thuggery Agency, Bello Bakyasuwa has escaped gunmen attack on his way to Kaduna from Gusau, the Zamfara State capital. BANDITS have killed at least 40 villagers in Kebbi and Zamfara states during a dawn attack on Sunday. Our correspondent gathered that six mobile policemen were among the 36 victims killed at Dan Umaru in Zuru area of Kebbi State. Residents said the funeral of 27 people had taken place while several others sustained various degrees of injuries. NO fewer than 74 abducted persons from Wanzamai Village in Tsafe Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State who were abducted by armed bandits have regained their freedom. A resident of the troubled village told News Point Nigeria that the bandits released the captives, killing two and keeping several others in captivity.
