ONE person has been killed by soldiers at a check point at Gadan Karofi (Karofi bridge) along CBN Bye Pass in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital. The Taraba state police public relations officer Abdullahi Usman confirmed the incident to News Point Nigeria via a telephone interview. THE police in Gombe State on Saturday confirmed an attack on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s ad hoc staff camped at the Tudunwada Primary School, in Gombe metropolis. THE Bauchi State office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has arrested one Hassan Ahmad, who was allegedly conveying N2million cash for a politician. The N2million found in Ahmad’s possession consisted of both old and new currencies, despite the naira scarcity witnessed across the country. The suspect was arrested on Friday by the troops of 33 Artillery Brigade on ‘Operation Safe Conduct’ deployed to Alkaleri in Bauchi State, and handed over to the Bauchi State office of the anti-graft agency. A FATAL crash that occurred on Thursday afternoon at Nabardo town along Bauchi – Jos road in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State has claimed the lives of 15 people. Seven other people sustained varying degrees of injuries in the crash that was caused by speed violation and dangerous driving. KADUNA State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has accused the Central Bank of Nigeria of withdrawing N2 trillion from circulation and replacing the old notes by minting only N400 billion. A PRINCIPAL medical officer, Geidam Bulama, who was abducted 11 months ago by the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) in Borno State, has regained freedom. News Point Nigeria gathered that, Bulama was reportedly released in Gubio before he was moved to Maiduguri where he reunited with his family. It was not clear if a ransom was paid before his release.
