NO fewer than three shops and valuables worth millions of naira were destroyed on Friday by fire at Bakin Kasuwa in Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State. THE Jigawa State House of Assembly has suspended three local government council chairmen for allegedly travelling outside the country without seeking permission from the state executive or legislative. GUNMEN have attacked the residence of the Kiyawa Local Government Chairman in Jigawa State and kidnapped his two wives. THE Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has affirmed the ruling of the lower court that declared the 2023 election in Birninkudu/Buji federal constituency of Jigawa State inconclusive. Maitama died on Friday morning at the age of 76 after a protracted illness at a Kano hospital, according to family sources. THE Jigawa State Ministry of Health has confirmed the death of 10 people following an outbreak of 91 suspected cases of diphtheria across 14 local government areas in the state.
