GOVERNOR Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has renamed the Adogba Central Mosque, Iwo Road, Ibadan, after himself. The mosque was demolished by his administration in 2020. It was recently rebuilt. However, an Islamic human rights organization, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has told the governor to remove his name from the mosque and return its original name. NO fewer than seven persons have been confirmed dead, while others sustained injuries, in an accident involving a moving train and a Lagos State government Staff bus, at Shogunle area of Ikeja, Lagos, yesterday. A PASSENGER train has crushed a Lagos state government BRT staff bus at PWD junction, Ikeja area of the state Thursday morning. THE Appeal Court in Abuja has granted the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, access to inspect electoral materials used by the Independent National Electoral Commission during February 25, 2022, general elections. THE Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigation into suspected arson at the Akere Motor Spare Parts Market in the Apapa area of the state. THE Lagos State Government has commenced releasing impounded vehicles to their owners free of charge without payment of fines. The state Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, made this known in Lagos on Tuesday. THE President-Elect, Bola Tinubu is seeking an order by the Court of Appeal to access sensitive materials used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct of the February 25 presidential election. FEDERAL high court in Lagos has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to electronically transmit results during the March 11 governorship and house of assembly elections in the state. The order was issued on Friday by Peter Lifu, the presiding judge. The judge mandated the electoral body to use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) to upload a scanned copy of the EC8A to INEC’s result viewing portal (IReV).
