A NAHCON handling equipment that ramped into an Air Peace Plane has left many travellers stranded at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos. The Spokesman of Air Peace, Mr Stanley Olisa, who confirmed the incident in Lagos on Wednesday, said the aircraft was scheduled to transport passengers to Owerri from Lagos. He said that the incident had led to disruption of scheduled flight operations after one of the ground handling company’s equipment rammed into one of its aircraft. A COMMUNICATIONS specialist and senior crime reporter with Daily Trust Newspaper, Idowu Isamotu, has been shot by gunmen along the Lokoja-Obajana road in Kogi State. THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured a total of 3,785 (Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty-five) convictions across all its Commands in 2022. The figure, which emerged from a review of the Commission’s performance in the outgone year, shows a 70.5% improvement over its record for 2021(2220). It also represents a 98.93% success rate in prosecution given that the Commission lost only 41 cases, representing 1.07% within the period. THE Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Wednesday in Abuja approved the appointment and redeployment of new Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding (AOCs), Commandants of Tri-Service and NAF Institutions. KEHINDE Fatinoye a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) was assassinated on Sunday in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital. Fatinoye was murdered alongside his wife, who was until the incident a Principal Confidential Secretary at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNAAB. NIGERIA Football Federation and the Interim Management Committee have secured a 10-year partnership deal that worth Ten Billion Naira (N10 billion) with Investment Bank, GTI Group. The deal is for the improvement of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). GERMAN companies have perfected plans to boost activities in Nigeria and other African countries next year. According to a Reuters survey, the German companies hope to capitalise on opportunities in areas such as green hydrogen and liquefied natural gas, with 43 per cent planning to increase investment in the continent. GUARANTY Trust Bank (GTBank) says it will suspend international transactions on its naira Mastercard from Saturday, December 31, 2022. The bank made this known in a statement to its customers on Thursday.
