THE Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr Ifedayo Adetifa, has confirmed the outbreak of diphtheria disease has killed at least 35 persons in the country. Dr Adetifa said this during a programme on Arise Television on Saturday night. THE Lagos High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square has sentenced a medical Doctor, Dr. Ejike Ferdinand Orji, to one-year imprisonment for causing grievous harm, negligence, and endangering the life of a 16-year-old patient. THE Lagos State Government has declared work-free days for public servants in the state to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). ONLINE streaming service company, Netflix has stated that, it recorded a loss of 39, 451 users in 40 days, a loss the company attributes to commercial banks suspension on the use of naira card in the country. THE Central Bank of Nigeria injected N6.9 Trillion ($15.3bn) into the economy to stabilise the value of the naira from January to October, 2022. This was obtained in the banking sector regulator’s monthly and quarterly economic reports on foreign exchange market developments. THE Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has confirmed 42 additional COVID-19 infections in the country in two weeks, with Lagos State recording 27 cases. The NCDC made this known via its official website on Sunday evening, adding that Edo, Kano, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Plateau and the Federal Capital Territory contributed the remaining figure.
