THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Peter Jiya Ndalikali of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the Niger South (Zone A) Senatorial District Election. GOVERNOR Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has suspended the activities of international and local non-governmental organisations operating in the State. The governor made the announcement during a broadcast at the Government House in Yola the Adamawa State capital where he noted that the NGO’s are drifting from their mandate of providing humanitarian assistance to the people. He however, commended the role of the security agencies during the 2023 presidential election as he orders a twenty-four hour patrol by security personnel to forestall breakdown of law and order in the state.

THE Independent National Electoral Commission in Zamfara has declared the state’s central senatorial zone, Gusau/ Tsafe and Gummi/ Bukkuyum elections inconclusive. In Zamfara central senatorial zone PDP’s Aliyu Ikra Bilbis is leading Kabiru Marafa. Bilbis got 93,120 votes while Marafa scored 79,444 votes. About 57,701 votes were cancelled in polling units in Gusau, Tsafe , Bungudu and Maru local government areas. THE Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has emerged winner of Saturday’s presidential election in Kebbi with 285,175 votes. The State Collation Officer, Prof. Usman Saidu, while presenting the result in Birnin Kebbi said the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, polled 248,088 votes. THE National Independent Electoral Commission(INEC) has stopped the coalition of Kebbi central senatorial election results following the disappearance of the returning officer for Marafa ward, in Birnin Kebbi.
