Cars Burnt, Properties Lost As Fire Guts Mechanic Shop In Kano

A FIRE outbreak has burnt down about eight vehicles, sheds and carpentry on Lawan Dambazau Road by rail line, Kano State.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at an uncompleted building used for carpentry work and car repairs.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abudullahi, operatives of the command arrived at the scene after an emergency call to the control room of the agency by the police officer P & G Kwalli Police Division.

He said, “It is about 300 x 150ft caught by fire, including eight sheds with carpentry equipment and eight cars were burnt. One shed and one car (were met) slightly alight.

“With the help of Allah and effort of our men, we managed to save about 10 sheds with one temporary Mosque and 37 cars were parked at the garage.”

He said the fire was caused by an electrical spark from the carpenter’s place.
