Dozens Killed As Israel Attacks Gaza While Ceasefire Talks Continue

MEDICAL sources told Al Jazeera that Israeli attacks killed at least 45 Palestinians across Gaza on Monday as Israel’s siege of northern Gaza crossed the 100-day mark.

Despite the latest ceasefire push, Israel is continuing lethal attacks in Gaza, killing at least 11 people in raids across the enclave Monday.

The latest attacks took place in a residential block in Gaza City, killing eight, and a home near Khan Younis, killing three.

This is as a Hamas delegation says Gaza ceasefire talks are progressing well, according to a statement issued after a meeting with Qatar’s emir.

Efforts are intensifying to end 15 months of genocide in Gaza and to release Israeli captives held in the Strip.

There have been days of discussions between Qatari mediators and a senior Israeli delegation in Doha.

The White House says the negotiations are at a critical point while Hamas says the talks are progressing well.

Meanwhile, Physicians for Human Rights-Israel (PHRI) said the Israeli military has confirmed that Dr Hussam Abu Safia, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, is being held in Ofer prison, a notorious Israeli military detention centre in the occupied West Bank.

Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed at least 46,584 Palestinians and wounded 109,731 since October 7, 2023. At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks that day and more than 200 were taken captive.
