    BORNO PATRIOTS

Speaking during the three day meeting, the Coordinator of the Center, Charley Amminata Kwagga, hints that, “today, we gather not merely as institutions, but as one united force bound by a shared commitment to protect our youth, safeguard our communities, and rebuild the moral an social foundations of Kano State.

She said the theme of the summit, “Strength in Unity,” echoes a truth we cannot ignore: no single agency or sector can curb drug abuse alone. Real victory lies in collective action, shared strategies, and sustained collaboration and that why we are gathered here today to join our knowledge and collective efforts to bring solution and ways to curb this menace in our great state.”

Kwagga explained that the kano state government can’t not do it alone, but a joint effort can bring a drastic change in the society.

“As the Kano Reformative Center, our mission goes beyond awareness, it extends into rehabilitation, reintegration, advocacy, and community transformation. Every day, we witness firsthand the consequences of drug abuse: broken homes, shattered dreams, rising insecurity, and young lives drifting into hopelessness.”

“But we also witness the power of support, guidance, and structured intervention-proof that with the right help, every addicted individual and youth can rise again.

“This summit stands as a bold step toward forging stronger alliances between security agencies, traditional rulers, healthcare professionals, educators, parents, NGOs, and policymakers. Each stakeholder carries a unique role, and when these roles are harmonized, the impact becomes transformational.”

She added that, “Our goal is clear, Strengthen prevention through education and community sensitization, Improve synergy among agencies in identifying and disrupting drug networks, Expand access to rehabilitation and psychosocial support Promote reintegration pathways that give recovering youths a future to believe in.

“We also aimed at reviving the traditional and cultural norms that once protected our communities from moral decay to use them effectively in achieving results.

We especially commend KRC, Kiru, for its dedication to rehabilitation and reform. Your work provides meaningful pathways for vulnerable youths to rebuild their lives, thereby strengthening the fabric of our communities and complementing ongoing security efforts.

The Brigade assures you of continued cooperation in sensitization, community engagement and other interventions that promote peace, discipline and social responsibility. I congratulate KRC for organising this important programme and encourage all participants to engage actively, exchange ideas, and foster partnerships that will drive lasting positive change.
