DSS Arrests Tailors Mass-Producing Russian Flags In Kano

THE Department of State Services (DSS) says it has arrested some tailors suspected to be mass-producing Russian flags in Kano State.

In a statement on Monday, the DSS said some of the sponsors have also been apprehended.

“The DSS can confirm that Adaramoye Michael (aka Michael Lenin) is not in its custody,” the agency wrote on its X handle.

“Meanwhile, the Service has apprehended some tailors in Kano State responsible for making Russian flags being distributed in the area. Some of their sponsors have also been picked. An investigation is ongoing.”

The move came in the wake of some #EndBadGovernance protesters carrying Russian flags in several northern states.

The protesters made up of mainly underage boys, were seen chanting songs in Hausa, waving the Russian flags and running through the streets in protest.

The development comes just one day after the Kano State Government relaxed the curfew imposed on the state following the violence that trailed the protest.

The state Commissioner for Information, Baba Dantiye, in a tersed message he sent to News Point Nigeria on Saturday, said that the curfew would be relaxed from 8 am to 2 pm.

On Thursday, Governor Yusuf imposed a 24-hour curfew after the nationwide #EndbadGovernance protest turned violent.

“Having reviewed the curfew and worried by the situation the people have gotten in as a result of the curfew, His Excellency has directed that the curfew be relaxed now from 8 am, tomorrow Sunday, August 4 to 2 pm respectively,” he said.

He reiterated the state government’s commitment to the protection of lives and properties of Kano residents.
