THE Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has described the late elder statesman and industrialist, Aminu Dantata, as a rare gem whose selfless contributions to humanity and national development will be remembered for generations to come.
Bayero remarked on Sunday shortly after returning from Madinah, Saudi Arabia, where he had travelled to lead funeral prayers for the late business mogul.
Upon his return to Kano, the Bayero paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family of the deceased patriarch.
According to a statement signed by Abubakar Balarabe Kofar Naisa, the Chief Press Secretary to emir, said the world would not forget the impact the late Aminu Dantata made across various spheres of life.
“He devoted his life to supporting humanity through faith, commerce, education, and philanthropy,” the monarch stated.
Bayero, who led special prayers for the repose of the late elder statesman, prayed for divine mercy upon his soul and for God to grant his family, the people of Kano State, and the nation at large the strength to bear the loss.
In a separate condolence visit to Mariya Dantata, Bayero also offered prayers for God’s forgiveness and for the deceased to be admitted into aljannatul firdaus (paradise).
As it is tradition, the monarch was accompanied by senior members of the Kano Emirate Council, district heads, and loyal subjects from the moment he departed his Nassarawa Palace until his return.
Dantata, a towering figure in Nigeria’s business community, passed away recently at an advanced age.
He was widely known for his influence in commerce, generosity, and commitment to Islamic values.
