THE Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has announced the appointment of Olumode Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, effective August 14, 2025.
This appointment wasannounced in a statement by the board made avaialble to News Point Nigeria on Wednesday.
Adeyemi’s appointment follows the retirement of Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, the current Controller-General, who will be retiring on August 1, 2025, upon attaining the age of sixty.

The Board extends its appreciation to Olola for his contributions to the development of the Federal Fire Service while also acknowledging his dedication and commitment to the service.
According to the statement Adeyemi brings a wealth of experience to his new role, from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service and grown to the rank of Deputy Controller-General of Fire in the Human Resource Directorate of the Service Headquarters.
It noted that throughout Adeyemi’s career, he has attended and passed all mandatory in-service trainings, command courses, and other courses within and outside the country.
“He is a member and fellow of several professional associations, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria”, the statement reads.
