FG Orders Urgent Assessment Of Flood-Damaged Kano-Maiduguri Road

THE Federal Government through the Ministry of Works has directed an immediate assessment of Section 111 of the Kano-Maiduguri Road, cut off by a recent flood in Bauchi state.

A technical team from the ministry will evaluate the damage and provide emergency solutions to ease the suffering of the Malori-Guskuri community.

This was contained in a Saturday statement by the ministry. It stated that during a meeting with contractors, the Minister of Works Dave Umahi stressed the need for timely completion of projects funded by the tax credit scheme and disclosed the termination of Section 1 of the Kano-Maiduguri Road contract with E Contractors due to time expiration.

The minister emphasized the importance of durability in road construction.

He also called for greater commitment from all parties involved, highlighting ongoing projects under the tax credit scheme, including works by Dangote, BUA, and Mainstream Energy.

He urged patience from the public, assuring that the government is focused on delivering quality infrastructure to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.
