THE Federal Government has announced the release of shortlisted names for applicants seeking recruitment into the nation’s paramilitary agencies, as the selection process moves into the Computer-Based Test (CBT) stage.
This was disclosed on Wednesday in Abuja in a statement sent to News Point Nigeria by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril.
The shortlisted candidates are those who applied to join the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
According to the statement, applicants are expected to check their status via the official recruitment portal beginning Thursday, October 30, 2025.
“Candidates are to visit the Board’s recruitment portal at https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng from Thursday to confirm if they have been shortlisted for the next stage of the exercise, as well as to verify their CBT centre,” the statement read.
Shortlisted applicants are also advised to pay close attention to their scheduled venues, dates and timing for the CBT, as failure to comply may affect their chances of progressing in the recruitment exercise.
The Board further warned applicants to ensure they use only the official portal to avoid falling victim to fraudulent websites or impostors promising illegal job placements.
The recruitment drive has attracted widespread attention due to the high turnout of applicants nationwide. Earlier reports indicated that no fewer than 1,911,141 Nigerians registered for the exercise before the portal closed on August 11, 2025 reflecting the intense competition and growing demand for employment in the public safety sector.
The CBT stage represents one of the final stages in the recruitment process before physical screening and documentation.
