Hon. Chidi Nwogu with Taraba state Governor, Dr.Agbu Kefas

THE first week of November 2024 was a very busy, memorable and highly engaging one for the government and people of Taraba state,as it’s very vibrant and  awesomely thoughtful state governor, His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas and his entire EXCO all dedicated it to very elaborate and genuinely ambitious engagement of about 14 different local/international technical and business investors, all geared towards adding value to the economic, social and technological development of Taraba state.

    BORNO PATRIOTS

These visiting investors mostly from the Americas,Europe, Middle-East and Asia, all trooped into the state capital, Jalingo, armed with various project & program proposals, articulated towards effecting the needed positive changes in harnessing the huge quantum of human, economic and natural potential of the state.

They all took their turn to make their respective presentations to the state government for conviction.

Most of these proposals are targeted at tapping abundant resources all over the richly endowed state, that lies on a huge 60,291sq kilometers of mass arable land,(ie,6.5% of Nigerian land mass).

As a guide, the state government had earlier articulated some of their developmental visions and missions in a booklet titled, Taraba state investment potentials-Moving Taraba forward’, where it succinctly highlighted, inter alia, the preponderance of abundant natural resources nature has blessed the state with.

These are mostly in huge mineral resources,(eg Uranium, Limestone, Gypsum,Gemstones, Kaolin, Gold, etc),Agriculture,Enabling environment for the hospitality industry & Tourism, etc, all these which has earned the state it maxim/motto as “NATURE GIFT TO THE NATION”.

Other critical areas of investment intent by these visiting investors are Powe generation(conventional and green energy), Technological innovation in Education,Waste Management, Digital Economy, etc.

One of the major visiting investors that partook in the business summit and made a very impressive mark in their presentations was Maylidia and Co Consortium led by a former Nigerian federal legislator as it’s chairman,Hon Chidi Nwogu.

At the end of the successfull exercise on Wed 6th Nov 2024,the various teams were treated to a sumptuous State Banquet  at the Government Algon Resort by the state governor, ably represented by the deputy governor Alhaji Aminu Alkali, who was highly elated, excited and optimistic of the huge investment potential that will be anchored on this thoughtful initiative to move the state to another developmental level in the future.

Nigerian TAX Reform - Federal Goverment

The state dinner, which also had all members of the state executive council in attendance, ended with a vote of thanks by the Chairman of Maylidia & Co Ltd Consortium,Hon Chidi Nwogu who spoke on behalf of  all other team of investors present, and used the opportunity to greatly appreciate the opportunity offered by the state governor to partner with his government in expanding the developmental frontiers of Taraba state.
