IAWPA Honours NDDC Boss, Wife With Eminent Peace Ambassador As Daughter Leads Kids To Denmark

THE International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA at the weekend conferred the award / appointment of Eminent Peace Ambassadors to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC as well as his wife Amb. Mrs. Amaba Sam- Ogbuku.

The appointment and decoration of Dr.and Mrs Ogbuku took place in Lagos state Nigeria and had in attendance, the International Director of IAWPA Prof. Chidi Ehidiero and  Amb. Dr. Emmanuel Nkweke the International Spokesman of IAWPA among others.

A statement released by the office of IAWPA’s International Spokesman said Dr. Sammy Ogbuku and his wife Amb. Amaba, were recognized by the association for their peace initiatives especially in the Niger Delta region where he has been privileged to serve in various positions including as Senior Special Assistant to the former Deputy Senate President on Niger Delta Affairs a position he performed creditably well before being appointed as Managing Director of the NDDC.

Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke who joined other Eminent Peace Ambassadors for the induction ceremony further stated that as part of activities to mark the International Day of the Girl Child this October, the daughter of the NDDC boss Crystal Sam-Ogbuku will lead other children of IAWPA Eminent Peace Ambassadors to represent the association in Denmark when the global community will be marking the International Day of the Girl Child in Denmark.

The statement further  buttressed the importance of the annual event stressing that it will give opportunity to young Nigerians to be part of the United Nations and the SDG systems something which Nigerians have not been benefitting from despite playing a leading role in the pursuit of global peace and the United Nations itself.

The statement thanked Dr. Ogbuku for accepting his nomination as well as that of his wife and for the opportunity that will  enable his daughter be part of the International Day of the Girl Child which will make a statement that Nigerians are ready to be part and parcel of the UN efforts not only in Nigeria but in Africa and the world at large.

Major highlights of the event included the granting of affiliation to the Also Empowerment Foundation which is a Foundation run by Amb. Mrs Amaba Sam-Ogbuku. Benefits of the affiliation includes recommending the Also Empowerment Foundation to relevant offices of the United Nations.
