THE International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has congratulated Hajara Ibrahim, a young Gombe State student of Botany, who emerged the winner of the International Quranic Recitation Competition which held in Jordan.
A statement signed by the International Director of African Affairs of the association, Amb John Metchie said her triumph at the event shows the resilience of the average Nigerian women.
Metchie also congratulated the Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON, and people of Gombe State over the International feat stressing that the victory has out the state on the world map.
Ibrahim, from Abubakar Siddiq Islamiyya and 200 Level Botany Student at the Gombe State University who was selected to represent Nigeria, emerged the overall winner among other contestants from 39 countries in the 60 Hizb with Tajwid category at the 18th Edition of the Hashemite Jordan International Qur’anic Competition for Female.
Metchie urged Hajara Ibrahim to use her achievement to preach peace not only in Nigeria, but in Africa and the with all over.
While commending the Governor of the state Yahaya, IAWPA said it will soon make inroads into the state in its quest to engage more Nigerians despite their religious and ethnic affiliations into the association.
The statement added that Metchie has mandated Amb. Ali Abacha, the Northern Coordinator of the association to locate the school promising the school that produced her a special project to immortalize the effort of the girl.
In a similar development, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke has promised that he will work hand in hand with Amb. Alhaji Kabiru Jega, Director Special Duty (Education) to promote the girl across the international community on the relevance of Islam towards achieving peace in the world.
IAWPA is a peace advocacy group with Special Consultative Status under the Economic and Social Council ECOSOC of the United Nations since 2019 and is committed to using religion as a tool for peace building.
