TARABA state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has said that women will continue to be the focus of his administration in terms of opportunities, empowerment, and inclusiveness.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser, Media, and Digital Communications to the Governor, Emmanuel Bello, the Governor noted that his administration has the highest number of women in the cabinet in the history of the state as a demonstration of his faith in women’s leadership capacity.
Consequently, Dr. Kefas commended Taraba women for their diligence and commitment in their various calling, stressing that they are the true champions at the home front.
He said he is proud of their accomplishments as mothers, wives, and other roles they play in the family.
This was contained in his message on the occasion of International Women’s Day, where he congratulated women on their day. Dr. Kefas praised Taraba state specifically, noting that they remain the cornerstone of his administration moving forward agenda.
He described Taraba women as resilient, courageous, and gracious in all their endeavours.
He stressed that the Free Education policy, for instance, is primarily targeted at alleviating the hardship faced mostly by women who, in many cases, bear the burden of school fees for wards.
He noted that women should be given the opportunity to accelerate in politics as well as other career choices.
He said his cabinet has the highest number of women in the history of the state – a fact that reinforces his belief that women are imbued with extra grace to get the job done.
In the statement, Governor Kefas further noted that his administration will continue to find ways to make women more visible in governance and to get the necessary tools they need to excel in any chosen field.
He assured women of safety in Taraba state and pledged to always protect, serve, and empower them so they could achieve their greatest potential.
