AS part of activities ahead of the North-East Regional Stakeholders’ Summit of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the President of the Council, Engr. Sadiq Zubair Abubakar, has undertaken an extensive inspection of completed and ongoing infrastructural projects executed by the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, across Gombe metropolis.
News Point Nigeria reports that the COREN President, accompanied by the Registrar and other senior executives of the Council, also visited the operational bases of leading construction firms handling key state projects to assess their compliance with professional standards and engineering regulations.
At the Triacta Nigeria Limited site located within the newly established Shehu Abubakar District, Engr. Abubakar inspected the district’s road networks and the ongoing gully erosion control works traversing the area.
Visibly impressed, he described the Shehu Abubakar District as a classical example of purposeful leadership anchored on proper urban planning, renewal, and expansion in line with global best practices.
“This is governance in action. The political will of the Governor of Gombe State towards infrastructural development is not only futuristic but revolutionary,” Engr. Abubakar declared.
He commended Triacta Nigeria Limited for maintaining high ethical standards and ensuring that all projects under its execution conform to engineering codes of practice and quality assurance benchmarks.
The COREN team also visited the construction site of the Gombe Mechanic Village and the Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo Mega Motor Park.
At the site of the State High Court complex, awarded to Datum Construction Company, the COREN President remarked that the project symbolizes Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s commitment to strengthening the independence of the judiciary through the provision of a befitting working environment.
He praised Datum Construction for its uncompromising professionalism and determination to deliver an architectural and engineering masterpiece that will stand the test of time.”
Similarly, at the Gombe Water Supply Expansion site of Jidadu Ventures Limited along the Gombe bypass, Engr. Abubakar lauded the Inuwa Yahaya administration’s efforts to expand the water supply network to cover Gombe metropolis and adjoining communities.
He applauded Jidadu, a reputable water and engineering company, for maintaining quality standards and adhering strictly to quality.
During a tour of Pummis Consulting Firm, the COREN President expressed satisfaction with the company’s ability to manage multi-sectoral projects while supporting the state government’s vision of building a more sustainable and economically vibrant Gombe State.
Addressing journalists shortly after the inspection, Engr. Sadiq Zubair Abubakar said the visit was part of COREN’s commitment to promoting best practices in engineering and to appreciate policymakers who prioritize infrastructure and quality service delivery.
“Our tour of Gombe is both an appreciation of what has been achieved under Governor Inuwa Yahaya administration and an encouragement to continue setting the pace in infrastructural transformation. Gombe is clearly becoming a model for this region,” he said.
