THE National and State House of Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Kano, on Tuesday dismissed the petition by Umar Abdullahi Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the victory of Tijjani AbdulKadir Jobe of the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s (NNPP) for Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa/ Tofa/ Federal House of Representatives Election conducted on 25th March, 2023
News Point Nigeria reports that, in a judgement, the three-man Tribunal panel ruled that the petition is lacking in merit.
The Tribunal ruled that the petitioner has failed to present sufficient evidence to support the allegation made during the conduct of the election.
The sum of N200,000 cost was awarded to the respondents, jointly and severally.
Umar is son of former Kano governor and APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
