Exclusive photos of the attacked SUV and vehicle
MISCREANTS suspected to be loyalists of an All Progressives Congress (APC) serving Senator in Sokoto state waylaid the convoy of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state, a source in the state told News Point Nigeria exclusively.
According to the source, the cars were coming back from the third leg of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) statewide electioneering campaign in Silame and Wamakko Local Government Areas, Sunday evening.
The attackers threw stones at the moving vehicles in the convoy striking the front windscreen of the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity official SUV and piercing the the rear screen of the following official SUV in which rode the Permanent Secretary (Protocol) to the Governor.
The stone that damaged the protocol’s car barely missed the Governor’s Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Mallam Abu Shekara, spraying his face with fragments of glasses from the shattered door screen.
Gov. Tambuwal, his Deputy, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan Iya, the PDP State Guber Candidate, Malam Saidu Umar (Malam Uban Doman Sokoto), the deputy Guber candidate, Hon Sagiru Bafarawa and the visiting Kebbi State PDP Guber candidate, Gen Aminu Bande (rtd) and other PDP bigwigs in the state, all of who were in the convoy were not hurt.
Another unconfirmed report has it that, a young man was stabbed at Wamakko during the campaign while his motorcycle was snatched.
