THE Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the International Centre for Islamic Culture and Education (ICICE), custodians of the Al-Noor Mosque, Wuse 2, Abuja, Dr. Kabir Kabo Usman, has congratulated the Director of Medical Services at Prime University, Abuja, Dr. Mohammed Dada Ibrahim, on his appointment and turbanning as the Galadiman Magani of Katagum Emirate by His Highness, the Emir of Katagum, Bauchi State, Alhaji Umar Farouk II, CON.
In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday sent to News Point Nigeria, Dr. Kabir Kabo described the appointment as “a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Mohammed Dada’s exceptional leadership qualities, selfless service, and steadfast commitment to humanity.”
Dr. Kabo said the new Galadiman Magani’s elevation reflects not only his professional excellence but also his moral uprightness and unyielding dedication to the service of his people and the nation.
He praised Dr. Mohammed Dada as “a beacon of humility and a paragon of service,” adding that his appointment was a reward for years of consistent effort toward societal development and human advancement.
The ICICE Director General also commended the new Galadiman Magani’s invaluable contributions to the vision and mission of the International Centre for Islamic Culture and Education, particularly in fostering educational and cultural enlightenment.
Dr. Kabo noted that as a member of the ICICE Advisory Committee and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ICICE Al-Noor Academy, Dr. Dada has demonstrated rare commitment to Islamic education, community health, and the promotion of interfaith harmony.
He prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to bless and guide the new titleholder in his new traditional role and in all future endeavors, saying, “May Allah grant him wisdom, long life, and strength to serve the Emirate and humanity faithfully.”
Dr. Mohammed Dada Ibrahim, the new Galadiman Maganin Katagum, hails from a noble Katagum family steeped in a tradition of scholarship, leadership, and public service. His late father was a distinguished judicial administrator whose legacy of justice and integrity continues to inspire the Katagum Emirate.
Dr. Dada began his academic journey at Barewa College, Zaria, before earning his MBBS degree in Medicine from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master’s degree in Mother and Child Health from the University of London.
To further hone his professional expertise, he attended several specialized courses in health planning, management, and systems strengthening at world-renowned institutions across Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Africa, and Israel.
With over four decades of illustrious service, Dr. Dada’s career reflects excellence in clinical practice, health policy, and administrative leadership. His journey began in 1978 at the Bauchi State Specialist Hospital, where he laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong pursuit of public health advancement.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Dada has represented Nigeria at major international health summits and served as Team Doctor for Nigeria’s National Handball Team at the International Championship in Sweden.
He has contributed immensely to national health development through service on notable boards and committees, including the Governing Council of NAFDAC, Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi), and the Presidential Committee on Inter-Professional Relationships in the Public Health Sector.
He also represented Nigeria at the United Nations Conference on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna, where he championed policies on drug control and public health improvement.
The Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Farouk II, CON, officially turbaned Dr. Mohammed Dada Ibrahim as the Galadiman Magani of Katagum, alongside Alhaji Abdulkadir Dahuwa Ibrahim, who was installed as Magajin Garin Katagum, during a grand ceremony held on Saturday, 11th October 2025, at the Emir’s Palace in Azare, Bauchi State.
The event was attended by dignitaries from across Nigeria, traditional titleholders, scholars, medical professionals, and community leaders who came to celebrate a man widely regarded as a symbol of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to community service.
