THE Commissioner of Education Kano state, Rt Hon Ya’u Abdullahi Yan’shana has plaged his support and cooperation with Development Partners working towards supporting the state education sector.
He made the assertion when he recieved the Managing Director of the Development Alternative Incorporation (DAI) UK Global, Mr Kent Smith on a courtesy visit in his office.
In a signed statement by the Director Enlightenment, Ministry of Education, Aliyu Yusuf, issued and made available to News Point Nigeria, Tuesday, the Commissioner expressed appreciation over the contributions of PLANE, a project under the supervision of the DAI,
He then noted that their support in the education sector particularly in primary schools will go a long way in uplifting education in the state.
Yan’shana affirmed that their support in the training of teachers as well as the provision of enabling teaching and learning environment will equally compliment the policy of the Kano state government on free and compulsory basic and post basic education.
While assuring the determination of the ministry for the judicious usage of what ever the project has brought to the state, he also assured them of the total support of the of the state government and it’s people for the project to succeed.
Earlier, the Managing Director of the AID Global UK, Mr Kent Smith said that they were at the ministry for a familiarization visit to the Commissioner and also to establish a solid foundation of partnership with the ministry.
He added that such solid foundation will enable them to have the right connection that will facilitate the successful delivery of their support and services in Kano state.
Mr Smith however, disclosed that Development Alternative Incorporation is a consortium under the FCDO that supervised the delivery of the PLANE project.
