KANO State Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has on behalf of the State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and in related terms, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, have both extended their condolences to the family of the Kano Correspondent of LEADERSHIP newspaper, Late Malam Abdullahi Yakubu.
The duo in two separate press statements signed by Malam Muhammad Garba, Chief Of Staff to the National Chairman of APC and the Press Secretary to the Kano Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu respectively, also extended their condolences to the staff and management of LEADERSHIP newspaper.
Yakubu, 55, passed away on Friday after a prolonged illness in Kano and has since been buried at the Dan Dolo Cemetery according to islamic rites.
The Governor while expressing his sympathies, acknowledged the significant loss that late Yakubu’s demise represents.
He prayed for strength and resilience for the family members to bear the loss and wished them solace during this difficult time.
On his part, Ganduje described the loss of the veteran journalist as a big loss to Kano State and the entire northern Nigeria.
He prayed that Almighty Allah grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of their pillar of support.
