GOVERNOR Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has deeply mourned the death of the ace broadcaster, late Hajiya Bilkisu Babangida who passes on today following a protracted illness in Abuja at the age of 56.
This was made known via a statement issued by the governor’s Spokesperson Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa in Kano on Tuesday.
In the statement, the governor said late Hajiya Bilkisu Babangida was a trailblazer in the world of broadcasting, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
He added that as a renowned broadcaster, she used her platform to share stories, amplify voices and bring people together. Her contributions to the media landscape will be always remembered.
The governor aknowledged how her work with VOA and BBC inspired countless individuals and earned her reputation as a dedicated, committed and passionate journalist.
He on behalf of the Government and good people of Kano, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf prayed to Almighty Allah to grant her gentle soul eternal rest and be among the dwellers of the exalted Aljannah.
He also beseech Allah to grant her immediate family and Journalists across the country and beyond the solace and fortitude to bear her loss.
