IN a strong show of support for quality education, the President and Founder of MAAUN Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has donated a 30-seater luxury bus to Intercontinental Schools in Kano.
The announcement was made during the school’s Speech and Prize Giving Day ceremony held on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Prof. Gwarzo, a renowned education advocate and philanthropist, said the donation was in recognition of the school’s consistent academic excellence and its reputation as one of the leading secondary schools in Kano.
Commending the school’s performance, Prof. Gwarzo urged its founders to prioritize innovation in teaching methods to encourage critical thinking among students.
He stressed that such innovation was vital in equipping young learners with the tools to navigate future challenges and contribute meaningfully to national development.
“Education is the future, and the future is education. When you give your children quality education, you are investing in their future,” he said.
Calling on parents and guardians to prioritize basic education, the MAAUN President emphasized its importance as the bedrock of higher learning and societal progress.
He also advised the school to introduce bilingual education programs that would prepare students for global opportunities, enabling them to work and thrive beyond borders.
As part of the celebration, Prof. Gwarzo also awarded cash prizes to the top-performing students across various levels.
First-place students in the nursery, primary, and secondary school categories each received ₦1 million, while second and third-place winners took home ₦500,000 each.
The school’s founders, Engr. Yusuf Baba and Hajiya Hadiza Nuhu Yusuf Baba, expressed their profound gratitude to Prof. Gwarzo for his generous contributions, describing the bus donation as a significant boost to the school’s learning infrastructure.
In recognition of his long-standing dedication to educational development, the school presented Prof. Gwarzo with an award of honour during the event.
