Murder Of Katsina Commissioner: Deceased’s Wife, Binta, Childhood Friend, Yusha’u Granted Bail On Health Ground

THE wife of slain Katsina commissioner for science, Binta Rabe Nasir and his childhood friend, Yushau Abubakar Mani have been granted bail on health ground on Wednesday News Point Nigeria gathered.

This newspaper reported that the deceased’s wife, Binta Rabe Nasir and his childhood friend, Yushau Abubakar Mani were arrested, arraigned before a Magistrate Court and remanded in custody as prime suspects in the murder of the former commissioner.

News Point Nigeria learnt that Binta and Yusha’u filed their application for bail before a High Court sitting in Katsina on the ground that they are suffering from yet unknown illness. The Court granted them bail on certain conditions.

However, a prison official told this newspaper that a case has already been established against the two suspects and both of them will soon face trial as they were served with copies of their charges.

Recall that on the 9th of December, 2021, Katsina went into a shocking mourning state after the reported assassination of the state’s commissioner for science, Rabe Nasir.

Rabe was reported murdered in his private residence at Fatima Shema Housing Estate in Katsina on a cold Thursday evening.

A former State Security Service officer, Rabe also worked with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja.

He also represented Mani/Bindawa Federal Constituency at the National Assembly from 2007 to 2011.

Rabe was Governor Aminu Masari’s special adviser on science and technology from 2015 to 2019 from where he was elevated to the position of a commissioner.
