SUPER Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, tops the list of high-profile Nigerian players whose contracts will expire this June.

The 31-year-old winger joined Sivasspor on a two-year deal in September 2022 after terminating his contract with Fatih Karagumruk by mutual consent.

His current contract lapses this summer and talks of renewal are yet to commence according to reports in Turkey.

Musa, who was included in the Eagles squad for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nation which kicks off in nine days in Ivory Coast, is Nigeria’s most capped player having made 108 appearances for the three-time African Champion since his debut in 2011.

So far this season, Musa has one goal to his name and has made four appearances (two in the Turkish Super Lig and two in the cup competitions) totalling 237 minutes of action.

Defender, Ola Aina also faces an uncertain future at Nottingham Forest, with the Tricky Trees yet to offer the defender a new contract extension.

Aina has entered the last six months of his contract and the club is yet to hold formal discussions over an extension, despite rumours that a deal would be forthcoming soon.

Aina, 27, who signed from Torino on a one-year deal with an option for a further year has established himself at the club.

He has made 14 appearances scoring a goal and making one assist.

The futures of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi at Leicester City hang in the balance with the Foxes yet to open talks of renewal with the pair.

Both players, are enjoying a new lease of life in the English Championship playing under manager Enzo Maresca, but are yet to sign a new deal at the club and could sign a pre-contract agreement to join another club on a free transfer this summer.

Both players are in their final six months at the club.

Ndidi, who has been flourishing in his new No.8 role at Leicester, has scored four times and made six assists in 24 games this season while Iheanacho has six goals with two assists in 21 appearances.

They have also been linked with moves to several Premier League clubs.

Also, Shehu Abdullahi and Oghenekaro Etebo are available for free having been without a club since 2023.

Etebo last played for Greek club Aris Salonica in 2023 and was released at the expiration of his contract last summer just as Abdulahi whose deal with Levski Sofia was not renewed at the end of last season.
