NEDC Distributes Assistive Devices To Persons With Disabilities In North-East

THE North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has made significant strides in improving the lives of persons with disabilities in the Northeast region. A distribution ceremony was held in Maiduguri to provide hundreds of wheelchairs, crutches, and prosthetic limbs to beneficiaries.

The event was graced by the presence of the NEDC Managing Director/CEO, Mohammed G. Alkali, and the commission’s Executive Directors, Musa U. Yashi, Abdulsalam Y. Ahmed, and Garba Iliya.

In his remarks, Mr. Alkali emphasized the commission’s commitment to promoting disability inclusion and empowerment. He highlighted that the assistive devices are crucial in enhancing the quality of life for the beneficiaries.

The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), represented by its Executive Secretary, Dr. James Lalu David, was also in attendance to show support for the initiative.

This intervention is a testament to the NEDC’s dedication to addressing the needs of vulnerable populations in the region and fostering a more inclusive society.
