News Point Nigeria reports that Odeh has been named the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Mrs. Adewunmi will serve as Chief Relations Officer, both charged with spearheading the company’s public affairs and stakeholder management strategies.

With over 30 years of experience in communications, broadcasting, advertising, and the oil and gas industry, Andy Odeh brings a wealth of expertise to NNPC’s corporate communication efforts.

Before joining NNPC, he spent 26 years at Nigeria LNG (NLNG), where he rose through the ranks and served in multiple leadership capacities across community relations, logistics, technology, corporate communications, public affairs, government relations, and sustainable development.

His last role was General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development.

At NLNG, Odeh played a pivotal role in rebranding initiatives, led major public relations campaigns, and was instrumental in establishing the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting. He also oversaw the implementation of one of the country’s most successful micro-credit schemes for host communities.

An alumnus of the University of Jos, University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Odeh is widely regarded as a transformational leader in corporate communications.

Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi, a lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, joins NNPC from the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN), where she built an impressive career in regulatory affairs, government relations, and stakeholder management.

At Shell, she served as Regulatory Affairs Manager, coordinating compliance with statutory requirements and managing key government engagements.

Later, as Government Relations Manager, she cultivated relationships with the Presidency, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, ensuring smooth operations and safeguarding the company’s “license to operate.”

A graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University and the Nigerian Law School, Adewunmi is recognized for her ability to manage non-technical risks, as well as her strengths in emotional intelligence, leadership, and advocacy.

According to the NNPC, the appointments reflect its commitment to deepening trust and strengthening communication channels with regulators, host communities, government institutions, and the general public.

“The wealth of experience that Odeh and Adewunmi bring will not only enhance the company’s public engagement but also consolidate its reputation as a transparent, stakeholder-driven national energy company,” the statement added.

Both executives are expected to leverage their vast industry experience to project NNPC’s image as a commercially driven and socially responsible company, in line with its transformation into a fully limited liability entity.
