GOVERNOR Uba Sani of Kaduna State has launched a robust mobilization drive aimed at ensuring maximum citizen participation in the forthcoming voter registration exercise, describing it as a defining moment for Nigeria’s democracy and the consolidation of inclusive governance.
News Point Nigeria reports that speaking on behalf of the Governor, the Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, said in Kaduna that the directive underscores the Governor’s commitment to citizen engagement as the backbone of democratic leadership.
“His Excellency, the Governor of Kaduna State, has directed that no eligible citizen should be left behind in this crucial exercise.
“This is not only about participation; it is about securing the democratic rights of our people and deepening inclusive governance,” Maiyaki stated.
According to him, the Ministry of Information is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government Affairs, the Bureau of Religious Affairs, and respected traditional and religious leaders to ensure that awareness campaigns penetrate every ward, village, and community in Kaduna.
The Commissioner emphasized that the administration’s approach reflects Governor Uba Sani’s vision of a people-centred government that prioritizes inclusion, transparency, and grassroots involvement.
“This mobilization drive reflects the Governor’s vision of a people-centred administration, where every voice counts and every citizen has a stake in shaping the future of Kaduna State.
“We call on all stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, women organizations, and civic actors to rally behind this effort and make participation a collective success,” he added.
Observers note that the initiative could significantly improve voter registration turnout in Kaduna, especially in rural areas, where lack of information and logistical challenges have often hindered participation.
With this directive, the Kaduna State Government appears set to play a leading role in demonstrating how citizen mobilization can reinforce democratic processes and ensure that governance truly reflects the will of the people.
