PRESIDENT Buhari has described Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as a reliable deputy and a phenomenal human being.
The president showered the praises on Mr Osinbajo at the virtual launch of OSINBAJO STRIDES: Defining Moments of An Innovative Leader, a book in honour of the Vice President on Monday.
President Buhari, who is also the father of the day at the launch of the book said Osinbajo is a man who goes about with his duties with maximum commitment and dedication and no complaints whatsoever.
According to the president, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Gida Mustapha, the vice president has proven to be a patient politician who had not failed in discharging his duties.
“I can’t say this enough, but Vice President Osinbajo is an incredibly patient politician who demonstrates remarkable intellectual and mental energy in the discharge of his duties”.
On his part, the chairman of the book launch, former head of state, General Yakubu Gowom said, Nigeria has benefitted tremendously from the vision and foresight of the vice president over the last eight years.
“Osinbajo has left no one in doubt as to his capacity to handle matters of national interest, development and progress, since his emergence as the vice president and chairman of the country’s economic council.
Presenting the book, the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Oluseun Abiodun also described the Vice President as a man of honour and integrity.
According to Abiodun, no media or event time is enough to describe the good leadership qualities and adorable character of Professor Osinbajo.
“I can spend the whole evening here describing or listing the good characters of this great man and yet time won’t still be enough to say it all”, the Ogun Governor stated.
In his remark, the Plateau state governor, Simon Bako Lalong noted the worthy contributions of the Vice President to the development of the country as a lawyer, scholar, administrator and pastor.
He lauded Osinbajo for working selflessly and sacrificially to bring government closer to the people, and placing the people at the centre of governance, by regularly advocating policies that support human development.
On his part, the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal commended the Vice President for surrounding himself with creative and innovative.
“The Vice President has done so much for the youths in the country, he has remained relevant in politics and administration because he is a man who surrounds himself with creative and innovative youths.
“A leader who plans and thinks of how to better tomorrow is a leader that will always succeed in everything he does and Professor Osinbajo is one of such leaders”, Tambuwal pointed.
Also speaking, the 14th Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II commended the Vice President for being loyal to his friends over the years and for standing by them.
Sanusi, who is also the Khalifa of the Tijjaniya Order, said Osinbajo has also proven to be a man of intellect and brilliance; as well as a unifier, and a detribalised Nigerian.
“He is a man who gives in to superiors argument when he hears one, and that is a big attestation to his exemplary leadership qualities. We agree to disagree and I am have seen very few people who have Nigeria at heart like he does”, Sanusi praised his long time friend.
The book is essentially a collection of essays written by the journalists, writers and other persons from different walks of life.
It periscopes the Vice President’s public service since he was Special Adviser to the Attorney-General of the Federation in 1988 to date. Foreword is written by His Excellency, General Abudulsalami Abubakar.
