THE International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has condemned the Christmas eve massacre in Plateau state, describing it as horrendous and a sad tale of a brutality by man against man.
The association made it’s position on the massacre known which was carried out against Christians preparing for the Christmas on its eve in some communities at Bokkos and Barkin Ladi LGAs of Plateau State through its Director of African Affairs Amb John Metchie describing it as reprehensible, ungodly, satanic and condemnable.
Metchie, who promised to lead a high powered delegation of the International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA to the site of the massacre, urged the Nigerian government and non-governmental organizations to show concern for the people who have been devasted by the wanton killings by ensuring humanitarian and relief interventions.
While commiserating with the State Governor and the people of Plateau state, Ambassador Metchie said IAWPA as a global peace advocacy group will not be preaching global peace while Nigeria is embroiled in unnecessary crisis.
He said IAWPA will organise a peace parley in the state in the first quarter of the coming year where all the issues that are causing crisis in the state will hopefully be resolved.
“We are making efforts to ensure that we organise a peace parley in the state and hopefully, the government of the state will be engaged and other prominent stakeholders which will afford us the opportunity of reaching a truce.
“Hopefully the issues will be resolved and peace will be returned back to the state” the statement read.
